Even we as humans sometimes struggle with deciphering those kinds of creatively elaborate CVs. Therefore, it comes at no surprise that a parser struggles even more with such creativity. Thus, we were curious to see how far we would be able to get with it.
And now finally, drum roll, our new CVlizer release, 4.1.28 for version lovers, achieves a significant improvement in block recognition of almost 20%. We ourselves were surprised by this result.
This improvement has far-reaching - positive! - consequences, because the block recognition is the first step in the extraction process, errors occuring at this point have an impact on the entire parsing process and cannot be corrected easily at a later stage.
Would you like to see for yourself? As usual with JoinVision, there is no need for a time-consuming appointment to test the new release.

Improvement of block recognition by almost 20 %
Do you want to know what is driving us at JoinVision? To keep getting better. This holds especially true for our CV parser CVlizer. Lately we have noticed that CVs are becoming more and more creative. The times of simple structures with information listed from top to bottom, interrupted only by a few headlines and a picture on the top right, are more and more replaced by CVs that rely on a 2-column structure with lots of blocks.
A quick search via Google tells you how creative candidates have become in the meantime: Image search two-column CVs!
